The PK FOUNDATION, Inc. HISTORY
Get to know us a little more
PK Foundation, Inc. was the brainchild of the late, Dr. Kim Carmichael who passed away from a rare form of uterine cancer in January 2018. Dr. Kim was diagnosed with Uterine Leiomyosarcoma in 2017 and despite the report, she remained active at the church Kingdom Love Center Ministries that she co-pastored and founded in 1989 alongside her husband, Bishop Frankie L. Carmichael.

Prior to her own illness, Dr. Kim had a vision of providing resources and services to those battling cancer. The vision came to her while witnessing loved ones, church members and friends struggle spiritually, mentally, financially as well as physically during treatment. Dr. Kim would often use her own finances to pay for transportation to and from doctor appointments and to purchase groceries and clothing.
In addition, she would provide positive and encouraging words along with passages of scripture when people needed it most. Her compassion and desire to help others during what may be the most difficult time in their lives is the foundation on which the organization was built.
Her daughter, Me’Shea Carmichael-Marks has taken up the reigns of PK Foundation, Inc. to continue and further the legacy her mother began.
